Our Trust of Schools

Year Groups

Students are placed in a tutor group in Year 7 and will stay in the same tutor group for five years (except in special circumstances). In some cases, the tutor may care for a group from Years 7 to 11. A new tutor will be assigned to students when joining our Sixth Form.

The tutor is one of the most important roles fulfilled by teachers at the College. We place great importance on the care and personal development of all our students. Tutors see their tutor group every morning for registration and will deal with day-to-day problems, including academic oversight. Tutors will check Homework Diaries at least once a week.

Our College has a House system which provides us with six large groups of students spanning all year groups. Belonging to a House also creates team spirit and stimulates healthy competition. Throughout the academic year, we hold termly House Assemblies and run a wide range of house activities. These include House sporting competitions – including cross-country, netball, picket ball, rugby, athletics, tennis and cricket.
