Our Trust of Schools

Outdoor Education

At Exmouth Community college, we offer various Outdoor Education opportunities.

Ten Tors

Each year, a group of Exmouth Community College students take part in the prestigious Ten Tors Challenge, an annual endurance event held on Dartmoor. The challenge requires teams to navigate routes of up to 35, 45 or 55 miles across open moorland, carrying all the equipment and supplies they need. Taking part develops resilience, teamwork, leadership, navigation skills and determination. Throughout the year, students complete a series of demanding training expeditions, preparing them for this exciting and rewarding challenge. Our Ten Tors Manager is Mrs C Toomey, who can be contacted at Clare.Toomey@exmouthcollege.org

The Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, is a charity that has been working with young people from all backgrounds for more than half a century.  We want to work with academies and schools across England to give more young people the chance to do their DofE and lead successful and fulfilling lives. The DofE is the nationally and internationally recognised Award favoured by employers and universities alike.  Over time, we build confidence, dedication and commitment – attributes we all want to see in our young people in school, the workplace and life in general. Our Duke of Edinburgh manager is Mrs L Hatchard, who can be contacted at lisa.hatchard@exmouthcollege.org
