Overall the school has seen some of their strongest sets of results, with pass rates rising  significantly, improvements at all grade thresholds at A Level and vocational qualifications (such as BTECs) also performing very strongly. 

These excellent results open doors to a wide range of exciting next steps, including highly competitive universities, prestigious apprenticeships and routes into training and employment. These reflect the Sixth Form's commitment to delivering exceptional educational experiences and outcomes for every student.  

There were a number of outstanding performances from students. These include Lyra Berndt, who secured A*AA and will now take a gap year; Tom Lowrie, who secured AAAB and will study Materials and Engineering Science; Ned Allwood, who achieved AAAB and will read Geography at Plymouth University; Lilah Mardle, with A*AB who will read English also at Plymouth University; and Freya Davey, with AAB, who will study Social Sciences at Durham University. In vocational subjects Summer Alford secured two Distinction ‘stars’ and a further Distinction. 

During their time at Exmouth Sixth Form, students are supported to prepare for life beyond school through a rich blend of experiences both in and outside the classroom in line with the values of Belonging, Ambition and Responsibility. 

This year, students have enjoyed a range of experiences linked to their studies and interests. From the Criminology and Sociology students’ visit to Shepton Mallet Prison, where they explored the criminal justice system, to a visit to Exeter College at the University of Oxford, students have been able to deepen their understanding of their subjects and explore different possibilities for the future. 

Students have also been able to combine their studies with their sporting interests through the Exmouth Sixth Form Football Academy, which includes regular coaching, sports analysis and development sessions.

“There are so many brilliant young people and success stories to celebrate today. We pride ourselves on being a really comprehensive Sixth Form and it’s wonderful to see so many students meet and surpass their own personal targets, sometimes in very challenging circumstances.”
