At Exmouth Community College we feel that careers education forms an integral part of the curriculum, and enables all students from year 7- 13 a chance to explore and discover the various pathways available to them. Curriculum activities along with information, advice and guidance in partnership with our external providers (Future Smart Careers) & other professionals, help to motivate students and encourage them to achieve their best.

The Careers Department is located on the Gipsy Lane site, based next to the Sixth Form Study Hub. Parents, carers and students should regularly check their ClassChart announcements for events, opportunities and open days.

Work Experience 

Our work experience ​week for Years 10 and 12 for the 2026/2027 academic year will be: TBC.

We will be introducing the process to students in September 2026 onwards, but it is never too early to start looking. We offer various drops-ins with our Careers team throughout the year, and you can drop in at any time to talk about CVs or how to pick a work experience placement. The careers' office is based next to the Gipsy Lane Cover Centre, underneath the Sixth Form study hub.
